Breathing Techniques During A Panic Attack
People suffering from chronic panic attacks usually have medication to help them get over their panic attacks. However, these medications may take a while to work so you would also need to have a sort of first aid remedy to help you overcome an attack. The most effective way to do this is simply to practice some breathing techniques for calming down during a panic attack. This will effectively slow down your heart beat and help you regain control of your emotions.

Most panic attacks are characterized by rapid heartbeats and quick, shallow breathing. This is the most dangerous stage of a panic attack because if your heart rate does not slow down to a normal level, you can actually be at a risk of suffering a stroke or heart attack. For such a serious condition, the solution is ironically simple. It's one of the more important breathing techniques for calming down during a panic attack. All you have to do is get control of your breathing and force yourself to take longer and slower breaths of fresh air. Once you are able to do this, your heart rate will begin to slow down and you will soon get past the most crucial stage of your panic attack.

This may sound like a very easy solution but when you are in the grips of an extreme panic attack, you will find out that it might be not that simple after all. The key to slowing down your breathing is concentration. If you tell yourself that you can slow down your breathing, your body will believe you and eventually do what you are telling it to do. One of the breathing techniques for calming down during a panic attack you need to remember is that you should keep your senses from wandering around and just focus on breathing slowly. A good way to do this is to find something you can concentrate on and begin inhaling and exhaling more slowly. Soon, your heart rate will drop to a more stable pace and your body will feel relaxed once again. Do not stop breathing slowly until you are sure that the panic attack is over.

If you have a panic attack where people around you know what to do, things would definitely be much easier for you. But you must definitely know the proper breathing techniques for calming down during a panic attack in case you happen to have one by yourself. The most important thing is to know how to stay focused on your breathing and nothing else. Otherwise, your panic attack will only get worse and can even progress to more risky conditions.
